Chilling video shows driver going wrong way on I-195 before fatal Somerset crash
SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — Viewer dash camera video obtained by ABC6 News shows a wrong-way driver traveling west in the eastbound lanes of the Braga Bridge in Fall River moments before a deadly crash.
Massachusetts State Police responded to the three-car crash on Interstate 195 East in Somerset around 7:45 p.m Thursday.
Police said the wrong-way driver had critical injuries and died after being taken to a local hospital.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office identified the victim as 69-year-old Gail Lopes of Tiverton.

Police said the crash is under investigation by detectives.
The Somerset Fire Department said in a social media post that three people in total were taken to the hospital from the crash.
The other drivers involved suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

The viewer who shared the video with ABC6 News said he had called police in the moments before the crash, which happened after he had continued down the roadway.
