PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Protesters are demanding the return of Dr. Rasha Alawieh, an assistant professor at Brown University and a kidney transplant specialist, who was deported last week after being detained at Boston’s Logan Airport.

She reportedly had a valid visa, but was detained last week at Logan after returning from Lebanon, according to ABC News.

Federal officials are not commenting on why, only saying: “Our CBP officers adhere to strict protocols to identify and stop threats.”
