MASSACHUSETTS (WLNE) – Massachusetts State Police are investigating a pair of fatal accidents occurring overnight into Sunday.
Around 1:29 a.m. Sunday troopers from the State Police Barracks in Norwell responded to reports of a motorcycle accident on Route 3 Southbound, just past Exit 14 in Rockland.
State Police said a 2013 Ford F150 was traveling southbound when it was struck from behind by a 2006 Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man from Hanover, was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the Ford was not injured.
Later Sunday morning, State Troopers from the Foxborough Barracks responded to Route 495 Southbound, in the area of Exit 16, around 2:57 a.m. for reports of a rollover crash.
State Police said the investigation indicates that a 2000 Nissan Xterra rolled over after the operator lost control of the vehicle.
The operator of the vehicle, a 68-year-old Middleborough man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both incidents are under investigation, and roadways were closed while the scenes were cleared.
Massachusetts State Police are not releasing any additional information at this time.
